Cycle 1 - Financial Literacy
Cycle 1 is Mathematics based and focuses on real-world application and problem solving skills. Identified students in grades 1-5 will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of Math Concepts to financial-based projects that meet the 21st Century Learning Standards and incorporate the use of Technology.
Academic Skills - Learning qualities we are looking for in participating students:
- Use multiple strategies to solve problems.
- Explain their mathematical thinking in multiple forms (pictures, numbers and words).
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of grade level Math Concepts through teacher observation and district assessments.
- Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills.
- Show a strong understanding of concepts on district assessments.
- Examine and think critically about a real world problem.
